Marcus White selected as new host of 4th Street Forum

Milwaukee, WI - Jan. 10, 2013 - Marcus White, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation's vice president of civic engagement, will head up the new season of "4th Street Forum.

The weekly public affairs program, produced by Milwaukee Public Television, returns for its 11th season with a slightly modified format. White will be the sole host and each week will discuss relevant political and social issues with a panel of three experts from the community.

The new season begins Thursday, Jan. 17 and the topic will be "Wisconsin Politics: Blue, Red or Jumbled?" The weekly forums are taped at Milwaukee's Historic Turner Hall, 1034 N. 4th St., in front of a studio audience and rebroadcast on Fridays at 9 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. on MPTV Channel 36.1.

Viewers will have an opportunity to find out the topic for each week's forum and submit questions for the panel through the Foundation's Facebook page and Twitter account.

"It's exciting and an honor to be a part of this important community conversation," said White, who had been a panelist as well as a moderator for the program in the past.

The former executive director of Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee, White joined the Foundation in 2008 to head up its newly-created position of vice president of community partnerships. The position guides the Foundation's community engagement efforts and under White's leadership, the Foundation has commissioned a wide range of research and convened various groups to hear from local and national experts on an array of issues from education to mental health.
