Building an equity mindset to advance neighborhood early child care and education

  • Early childhood education workforce needs compensation and benefits commensurate with K-12 educators, as low pay continues to inhibit staff retention for providers.
  • Quality early care and education is an economic imperative – jobs are not being filled in Milwaukee because too many families do not have a place to care for their children during work hours.
  • Systems change means continuing to work together in formal and informal coalitions, advocating for policy change and participating in state-level conversations.

Hosts: Ann Terrell (National Association for the Education of Young Children) & Ashanti Bryant (IFF)
