In 2021, On the Table participants from the greater West Bend area will be eligible to apply for grants to strengthen community, deepen civic involvement and cultivate new ideas developed during their conversations.  Ideas to Action grants will range in amount from $5,000 to $10,000 in total. The program will use a streamlined online application process.

Guidelines & Requirements

Application timeline

  • Oct. 7 – application available
  • Dec. 10 – application deadline (11 p.m. CST)
  • Jan. 31 – applicants notified of final funding decision

Criteria

  • Applicant(s) must have participated in an On the Table 2021 conversation at a registered table
  • Open to groups and organizations within the greater West Bend area or otherwise serving area residents
  • Must feature a new idea generated through an On the Table 2021 conversation
  • Focus should be on action and collaboration

Eligibility

  • Organizations must be considered charitable organizations as determined by the IRS internal revenue code 501(c)(3) and submit IRS determination form
  • All questions in the application must be answered

Selection process

  • Selection of recipients will be authorized by the West Bend Community Foundation Board
  • Not all projects will be funded
  • Award letters will include award amounts and reporting requirements

Project Timeline and Final Reporting

  • Projects must occur between Feb. 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2022, or an extension must be filed.
  • A final report with an actual income and expense project budget must be completed at the end of the project. Reporting requirements will be outlined in the award letter.

What Ideas to Action will not fund:

  • Ongoing operating expenses
  • Debt reduction or agency endowments
  • Sectarian organizations for religious purposes
  • For-profit organizations
  • Partisan political activities
  • Capital campaigns
  • Fundraising events
  • Individuals
