NAMI Greater Milwaukee: $20,000 to hire a special events coordinator who will oversee the fundraising essential to maintaining the organization’s mental health services.
Province of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order: $18,000 to support the warming room at St. Ben’s Community Meal hall during the winter for homeless individuals.
Walker’s Point Youth and Family Center: $10,000 for its 24-hour emergency shelter for runaway, homeless youth.
Family Promise of Ozaukee County: $6,000 to purchase furniture and appliances for its new expanded day center.
The Pittsburgh Foundation: $5,000 to help organizations in Pittsburgh with recovery and healing in the aftermath of the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
Nativity Jesuit Academy: $100,000 to increase the square footage of two kindergarten classrooms and add bathrooms to each room.
Notre Dame School of Milwaukee: $70,000 to fund the addition of appropriately sized bathrooms inside of two 4-year-old kindergarten classrooms.
St. Joseph Academy: $25,000 to support three separate playgrounds serving infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation: $25,000 to fund the addition of a nature-inspired outdoor classroom that promotes learning for 360 preschool students at Starms Early Childhood Center.
Seton Catholic Schools: $25,000 to fund preschool-sized bathrooms and sinks for the K3-K5 students at St. Catherine School.
Malaika Early Learning Center: $24,000 to purchase and install seven furnaces.
Feast of Crispian: $20,000 in support of its National Veterans Theater Festival on Memorial Day weekend. The event will bring four performance groups from around the country to present veteran-written and performed productions at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Stiemke Theater.
UWM Foundation: $1,500 for the Sixth Annual Summit on Black Male Youth in March. The summit convenes high school and middle school black males to participate in workshops and hear inspiring keynote speakers.
Revitalize Milwaukee: $75,000 to support free critical home repairs and enhancement services to veterans, older adults and people with disabilities in low-income communities in Milwaukee.
Legacy Redevelopment Corp: $50,000 for its affordable housing program, which purchases city foreclosed vacant properties, provides rehabilitation and resells to new homeowners. The focus will be on properties in Lindsay Heights, Sherman Park, Metcalfe Park and Harambee neighborhoods.
ACTS Housing: $50,000 for its home-ownership empowerment program, which provides financial counseling, real estate services, rehab counseling, access to financing and post-closing support to families.
Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp.: $50,000 to support a program that will buy, rehab and sell single family and duplex properties in Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood that need reinvestment.
Northwest Side Community Development Corp.: $50,000 for the second phase of its Green Tech Station, a brownfield site at North 31st Street and West Capitol Drive that has been converted into a green technology education and demonstration area that features innovative storm water management and energy management solutions. Funds will purchase a shipping container for classroom space, permeable pavers, solar panels, educational signage and install a walking path.
371 Productions: $40,000 to support a documentary series that follows the Shorewood community as it tries to address racial inequities.
Walnut Way Conservation Corporation: $25,000 for the green ambassador and beautification program in Lindsay Heights.
Harbor District: $25,000 to redesign public access trails, a kayak launch and educational information in an eight-acre wetland in the heart of the Harbor District.
Housing Resources: $20,000 to provide education, resources and housing services to residents of Milwaukee’s Sherman Park East neighborhood who are looking to become homeowners.
