Milwaukee, WI - June 14, 2013- The Greater Milwaukee Foundation will welcome 25 attorneys and financial professionals as part of its most recent class of the Herbert J. Mueller Society.
The recognition society, which numbers 269 strong, recognizes the efforts of professional advisers who have worked with the Foundation and their clients who have an interest in creating charitable legacies. The group will be honored at a special luncheon today at the University Club in Milwaukee.
"Attorneys and financial advisers are some of our strongest advocates for philanthropy in the community," said Tim Larson, the Foundation's Vice President of Philanthropic Services. "They often provide clients the spark that ignites a philanthropic passion and we are very fortunate that many choose us as the vehicle by which to fan that charitable flame."
The society is named in memory of Herbert Mueller, a local estate planning attorney who, through his quiet efforts, helped shape the Foundation into the strong, stable and successful organization it is today. By the time of his death in 2001 at age 91, Mueller had worked with his clients to start more than a dozen Foundation funds with gifts totaling nearly $50 million.
