flood.jpegMilwaukee, WI - June 14, 2012- The Greater Milwaukee Foundation will honor Gerard Flood, of counsel at Davis & Kuelthau, with its inaugural Outstanding Professional Adviser Award.

The award recognizes the contribution professional advisers make in building relationships with the Foundation and helping their clients create charitable funds for the benefit of the community. Over the past 20-plus years, Flood, an attorney who focuses on estate planning, has introduced countless individuals to the concept of charity and to partnering with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to help bring their personal missions to life.

"Jerry Flood has played a significant role in the growth of charitable giving in the Greater Milwaukee area," said Susan Baran, the Foundation's senior gift planning officer. "He is an enthusiastic supporter of philanthropy and a leader in helping his clients create charitable funds for the benefit of the community."

Flood will be recognized at the Foundation's annual Herbert J. Mueller Society event on June 14. The membership society, of which Flood is a founding member, recognizes the efforts of professional advisers who have worked with the Foundation and their clients who have an interest in creating charitable legacies. Eighteen new members joined the society in 2011. Flood also will be honored at the Foundation's annual meeting on June 27 at the Harley-Davidson Museum.

Flood is a licensed attorney in both Wisconsin and Florida and has worked at Davis & Kuelthau since 2001. Prior to joining the firm, he had his own law practice for 28 years in Elm Grove. He is a board member of the Medical College of Wisconsin's Digestive Disease Center Advisory Board and served as Elm Grove's municipal judge from 1975 to 1993.
