Herbert J. Mueller Society
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation established the Herbert J. Mueller Society to recognize the hard work and generous spirit of professional advisers who help their clients establish charitable funds and legacies with the Foundation.
Through the society, advisers can deepen their knowledge of charitable giving, attend Foundation events and seminars, connect with other advisers, and more. Members include professional advisers who build and deepen relationships with the Foundation, including attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, brokers, insurance agents and others.
The society is named in memory of Herbert J. Mueller, a local estate planning attorney who, through his quiet efforts, helped shape the Foundation into the strong, stable and successful organization it is today. By the time of his death in 2001 at 91, Mueller encouraged his clients to partner with the Foundation to start and grow more than a dozen funds with gifts totaling nearly $50 million.
The Herbert J. Mueller Outstanding Professional Adviser of the Year Award
In honor of Mueller’s work, the Foundation annually recognizes a professional adviser who reflects Mueller’s strong commitment to clients, philanthropy and the community by building and deepening relationships with the Foundation. The Herbert J. Mueller Outstanding Professional Adviser of the Year Award celebrates professional advisers committed to championing the Foundation’s partnership for charitable giving, advancing equity, and convening leaders.
