MKE-Plays-logo_web.jpgMilwaukee 10th District Alderman Michael Murphy created the MKE Plays initiative to re-establish parks as a priority for local government and transform the city’s most underutilized parks into enriching play environments. MKE Plays is about creating high-quality parks that are an authentic reflection of the needs, interests, and identities of the communities they serve.

Funding the reconstruction, programming, and maintenance of recreational facilities requires the collaborative effort of both public and private entities. Given the importance of playgrounds, we are reaching out to private and non-profit partners throughout the city to join us in reconstructing parks to stabilize the city’s 60+ park portfolio by correcting the issue of deferred maintenance and accelerating the reconstruction of parks geographically dispersed throughout the city.
