Engaging and valuing our community’s future changemakers

  • Producing solutions requires talking directly with groups affected; we need to ask young leaders what they want to address and how we can support them.
  • To change systems toward successful life outcomes for youth, established generations need to yield power and allow young people to guide us toward that change, while holding us accountable for changing the systems we control, including resource allocation.
  • To shift power and innovate, be prepared for young people to say things and seek changes you weren’t anticipating, because maintaining the status quo is easier than change.

Hosts: Zahria Tucker (Greater Milwaukee Foundation) & Imani Ray (Urban Underground)
