The West Bend Community Foundation is a permanent charitable endowment that inspires, encourages and supports enduring donor legacies for the betterment of the greater West Bend community.

Grantmaking priorities

Nonprofits within the greater West Bend area or otherwise serving area residents and addressing broad fields of interest, such as education, the arts and the environment. Preference will be given to requests for new or expanded projects/programs and to cases where the Foundation's funds will make a significant impact. Multi-year grants will be considered, but generally not for more than three years.

Application process

All agencies are required to have their data entered in our online Grants Portal. Application instructions can be accessed through the following steps: Please review the steps in the How to Apply for a Grant section under the Grant Seekers menu and then click on the “Grants Portal Access” button at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to a page where you can log on to the Grants Portal to complete your application. If you are a first-time applicant, please fill out the new user registration form first.

The Foundation's Grants Committee will review online proposals and make recommendations to the full Board. The Board must approve all grant awards made by the Foundation.

All applicants receive written notification of the Board’s action. Those selected for grants must agree to use the funds in accordance with the grant application and abide by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s terms and conditions. A financial account of expenditures and narrative of grant-supported activities will be required. All funded grants must be in compliance with reporting requirements.
