Community Event Sponsorships

The Foundation occasionally provides underwriting support for nonprofit programming events such as convenings, forums and conferences on a limited basis. 

The Foundation also provides sponsorships for nonprofit charitable fundraising events, such as annual luncheons and galas, on a limited basis from its annual operating budget, which can fluctuate from year to year.

All requests are subject to the availability of resources.  Sponsorship awards may vary. A typical sponsorship award is $1,000.    


Community event sponsorship criteria

To be considered for support, an event must be produced by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the greater Milwaukee area, and an application must be submitted at least eight weeks before the event. 

Preference for sponsorships will be given, but not limited to:    

  • Organizations/efforts that align with the Foundation’s strategic priorities  
  • Events happening in and/or benefitting Foundation strategic neighborhoods and partners 
  • Organizations that have $1 million or less in annual revenue 
  • Organizations that have not received a Foundation grant during the last 12 months 
  • Organizations that have not received event sponsorship or underwriting during the last 12 months 

Sponsorships are not available for:    

  • Sports teams    
  • Religious activities/events (unless supporting a program or project that benefits community residents in a Foundation strategic neighborhood) 
  • Civic or other memberships 
  • Seminars and trade shows 
  • International opportunities 
  • Political campaigns/events   
  • Events already sponsored/supported with existing Foundation funding/grant 

Please note: Sponsorship requests are reviewed monthly. Most applications will receive a response within three weeks.
